I have this card. I thought i was going to be able to use my directTV sateilite service(and reciver) with this card. I think thers a way to but i can't figure it out to save my life. I am pretty nub so i get most of it. i am reciving Analog cable signals, but not my sateilite service. I plug the cable that normally goes to the direct tv box as service in, into the pc-side (ASUS My Cinema-PHC3-100/NAQ/FM/AV/RC TV Tuner Card PCI Interface)ATSC and try to gather channels and nada. I even switched to alot of different methods to recieve the sateilite channels. is it even possible to get sateilte service ran thru my PC so i can record it.???

DirectTV encrypts their signals, all of them. They are decoded by the box (using the smart card). You can try tuning to one of the video outputs from the box, but you cannot tune the signals strait from the dish.

I see. Well i thought i understood it differently is there any way of recording DTV sateilite service with my home theater PC? other than buying a DVR for $$$$
