bought new windows 7 pc but moniter only got vga slot bummer.tower has hdmi slot can i get a cable hdmi to vga?
According to HDTVSupply's bogus listing for a HDMI - VGA cable convertor: "This HDMI to VGA Cable does not work and there is no cable that will convert HDMI to VGA. If you need to convert an HDMI signal to VGA see our HDMI to VGA converters. HDMI is a digital signal interface while most of VGA signals that you can find on devices are analog signals. A simple cable will not work, and you need an electronic converter device. HDMI cable is purely digital (1's and 0's) signal while VGA is completely analog (waveforms) so an HDMI to VGA Cable won't work. The HDMI digital signal sent through 19 digital lines in the HDMI cable and delivered via the HDMI connector cannot be used by any analog VGA display that uses an analog signal input lines. This HDMI to VGA Cable doesn't work because: 1. HDMI is digital and the VGA output is analog so an HDMI to VGA Cable won't work. 2.
