I recently transferred my DVD collection to my home entertainment center computer hard drive. I had been using DVD-Profiler to organize my collection. I am Looking for a program that will not only organize my VOB/video library but also launch the movie.

Can someone recommend a program that not only organizes my video library but also plays the VOB file? I guess similiar to I-tunes but for VOBs.

    Thanks

I was recently looking for something to do the same thing, organize my files and play them back for me. I ended up finding XBMC (or Xbox Media Center as it used to be short for). It is available in many formats and is free. I like it because it actually downloads pics for the dvd covers and background art an an episode/movie description. much easier than me digging into the back of my library to find a movie to watch with people....now i just need to figure out the best way to transfer my DVDs to computer. DVD decrypter seems good and recommended. if i can't find a downloaded for an already encoded version in mp4 or something. Mostly just need original backups for ones i want to keep the special/xtra features on a disc. most movies i don't care about that anyways.

oh...the link is www.xbmc.org for that program. I'm not a fan of the original skin it comes with but there are other skins for it to make it look how you want.

Oh and i just tested it with Vob files that DVDdecrypter extracted from a DVD and it played the dvd files just fine without further encoding. Just a plus in case others were curious if it worked. You just need to make sure the folder is labeled with the name of the move properly for a lookup for the information.
