Windows 7 x64 and ffdshow problems

#1 26 Nov 2010 @ 1:13
Hello all!

I am trying to use ffdshow 64-bit version with Mplayer Classic Home Cinema 64-bit 1.4.2499.0 but having constant problems. At first, I was unable to run ffdshow at all in Mplayer Classic but Shark007 codecs helped me out with that. Here's what I have noted when playing various movies in .avi & .mkv formats:

1. Mplayer Classic set to Output > VMR-7 (renderless) = Ffdshow works but video image not filtered (pixelated) i.e. nearest neighbor filtering.

2. Mplayer Classic set to Output > EVR = Ffdshow does not load but video image is nicely filtered.

Ffdshow merit is set to highest. Running on Core 2 Duo 3Ghz, 4 GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX 260, Windows 7 x64 Ultimate.

I could play using VLC Player but it doesn't really allow external filters. I really like ffdshow a lot and would like to use it in Windows 7 as well. Is 32-bit Windows 7 better in that regard?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.
