I have a Denon AVR-788 which are hooked up to my Polk RM 6880. When I put the audio on DTS, the receiver tends to go into protect mode quite a bit while watching blu-ray movies. Can the speakers not handle the receiver? Should I look into getting my receiver serviced?

This is usually caused by a single strand of speaker wire touching something it shouldn't, and shorting. Double check all your speaker wires, at both ends. Re-twist and re-connect them, to make sure they are ok.

They are 8 ohm speakers, so the receiver should be able to handle them just fine. If there's not a rogue wire causing a short, it may mean a visit to the repair shop.
    Good luck!
