    So here is the thing...
I have LG LD550 TV, a DVD player, YES(Satellite TV broadcasting in Israel)
    and of course 5.1 speakers

What I want to do is connecting all the above to a receiver using optical cable(TOSLINK)(the reason i want my TV connected to the receiver is that i have a 500GB external drive, so when i connect to the TV i could watch it in HD quality + 5.1 audio)

Now i also need to connect the DVD and YES to my TV using video cable.

Most of the receivers I have seen have only 2 TOSLINK inputs.

so my question is: What is the easiest, most quality way of doing all the above?

    Thanks
    :)

Your satellite, TV, and DVD player don't have HDMI input/outputs? What about component outputs? I need more info before I can make a suggestion. Pretty much, you need to run all your cables from the back of your devices to the receiver so that it can do all the decoding. For instance, if you want to get Dolby Digital sound from your DVD player, you would use your TOSLINK cable by hooking it to the output port on the player and inserting it on the input port on the receiver.
