hdmi cables

    hi all, bought a sony hdtv at bestbuy, sale recommended their monster hdmi cable cost around $60, i did some searh, some hdmi cables only cost under $10, my question is "dose the brand really matters? some had version a or b, what are they? thanks in advance

    stay away from monster they are overpriced you can get hdmi cables from monoprice.com for about 5.00 each and they work just the same as monster cables monster cables have a markup of over 100% that is why best buy is pushing them

    thanks for reply,another thing if you don't mind, does surge protector relly necessary?

    yes you should have one but watch out for monster surge protector they are way overpriced try APC.com you can get surge protectors at a low cost i got one from APC for $20.00 check them out
