Sony Bravia XL-2400 replacement lamp

my sony bravia kdf-50e2010 is four years old and i have never replaced the lamp or had any problem before yesterday so i know i have used up the 8000 hours of the lamp's life and more. the lamp indicator stays red and the power indicator blinks red 3 times and i have checked the door to the lamp and it is hitting the switch when closed. i am not sure what to do next will a replacement lamp fix all of this for me or do i have a bigger problem. if it just needs a XL-2400 replacement lamp i know a guy who will sell it to me tomorrow. i would appreciate any help

ok i put in new lamp and everything is perfect now. the 3 red blinks most come on because there is no power in the burnt lamp for the switch on the door to the lamp
