viewsonic n3260w lcd tv problem

ive noticed a lot of unanswered questions in this section of afterdawn so ill put this out there and hope someone can help ,,,my parents have a viewsonic n3260w tv and all of a sudden the screen just flickers like a stobe light constantly so does anyone have any ideas what is happening with it and can i replace something inside or is if f***ed ,,ive looked up problems similar and a few that ive come across has said it could be backlight inverter circuitry problem or a capacitor problem anyone any info ,,thanks
