I might be a bit behind everyone else but I just got a hr21-700 and I'm wondering if there is a way to copy the native files off of the DVR on to my PC and convert them into .mkv or .avi type files.

Also my win7 64 machine sees the DVR on the network, it will even list out all of the shows, but it will not play them back, any thoughts on this?

Did you find an answer?
Did you find out if using the SATA port was a possible option?
