Can anyone let me know if it is possible to use the SCIENTIFIC ATLANTA EXPLORER 8300HD to recieve over the air broadcasts. I bought a Rogers box and no longer have cable and would like to use it to recieve and record over the air HD signals. Any help, suggestions, links would be great. Thanks

No you can't. Rogers disables all service to the box by unregestering the serial number in their system. Even previously recorded material cannot be accessed once the box has been removed from the account. Eventually (if not already) you will get 4 dashes across the main display, which means its in brick mode, and the box is essentially a paper-weight.

The best you can hope for is to save it for future use, or sell it on craigslist if you don't plan on getting cable again.
