A solution for Apex DRX-9000 issues...help!

Help me out here...I have an Apex DRX-9000 (the model circa 2002), excellent condition...until the power supply went out. The repair guy said he changed out the power supply, but the board won't work.
Questions: (1) does anyone have one for sale? I found one for $299! ridiculous!!! (2) anyone know what device may play the burned DVD+R's made on the DRX-9000? (3) is there an alternative solution? (4) is there a credible software that might play the finalized DVD's? (5) How can I program the DRX-9000 to make the disc compatible with most DVD players?
