USA DVD-RECORDER RECOMMENDATIONS???

I looked through the dvd-recorder list, but seemed to come up short. I'm certainly not looking to spend an arm/leg on a new top-of-the-line recorder, so I was hoping some of you could point me in the right direction.
The recorder I have now is a Magnavox MWR10D6. It works well, but I hate the remote and it's not listed as playing DivX/AVI.

Some of the features I'm interested in are as follows:
--DVD Recorder
--Reads DVD+/-R
--Records to DVD+/-R(if not both, that's fine)
***--Plays compressed files, especially AVI or maybe next smaller compression down
--TV Tuner

i guess basically I'm looking for something close to the above mentioned piece, but that plays AVI's. I may be missing some functions, but if you think of something let me know. I'd like to find an older model that I can still get new/refurbished for a good price.
