Extracting AC3 Audio From DVD & Converting To MP3

I have recorded a radio show via Freeview onto a DVD+RW disc and would like to extract the AC3 sound track and convert into MP3 so I can listen to it on my MP3 player.
What software do I need to carry this out?

Assuming +RW use the same video format as -RW

Rip the files to the HDD.
Run AviDemux.
Load VTS_01_1.VOB from the VIDEO_TS folder.

1 Left side Audio menu, select MP3
2 and 3 Filter Mixer set to stereo.
4 and 5 Top menu 'Audio' > 'Save'.
Give the file a name (including extension) e.g. audio.mp3
