I've been searching through these forums and through google looking for the answer but I can not find a straight answer SO I want a step by step guide if at all possible. I want to rip the DVD to my harddrive and get it to a WMV file if at all possible since I will be able to sync it to my zune and stream to my 360 in that format. I don't care how many steps and if the programs cost up to $50 or so since I have a lot of DVDs I want to rip and don't want a huge loss of quality. Thanks!
Rip the 'Main Movie' to a folder on the HDD using 'DVDFab HD Decrypter'.
Use 'FixVTS' to clean-up the ripped files.
Load the files from 'FixVTS' into 'VOB2MPG' and save the VOB files as one single MPEG-2 file.
Open the MPEG-2 file in 'Any Video Converter' (free version), select .wmv as the output.
So many free programs can solve your problem, why would you spend $50 to buy one. handbrake, winx dvd ripper, any dvd converter are all free.
I just used winx dvd ripper to rip my dvds. Here is the step by step guide:
2. Load real DVD by clicking "DVD Disc" button or DVD folder by clicking "DVD path" button
2. After loading DVD, select the video format you would like to convert to. If you need to convert DVD to WMV, just click “To WMV” button.
3. Click "Browse" button in output setting area, select a destination folder in the dialog box that opens, and then click OK.
4. After finishing the above settings, check the files needed to convert in the file list, and click "Start" button on the main interface, to start converting the movie.
