I have a copy of a DVD made using DVD Decrypter and DVDFab 0.17.0. DVDFab copied the complete DVD into two DVDs. Now I want to make an avi-file from the DVDs.
I have problems with subtitles regarding the second DVD.
I’ve tried the following steps:
1. Copy DVD to hard drive
2. Use FixVTS 1.603 on the full DVD
3. Making a backup with DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15.
4. Use Auto GK 2.55 to make the avi-file.
DVD Shrink couldn’t find the DVD in “Re-author”, so I used “Full Disc“. The DVD was labeled “Unreferenced Material”.
In the end result the subtitles are out of sync with the audio and video. It seems to be an about four minutes delay in the beginning and that decreases during the film.
How can I make the subtitles sync with the audio and video?

Quote:Why?If you select 'Main Movie' you shouldn't get two disks.
DVDFab copied the complete DVD into two DVDs
Quote:The Title number should be listed in the right hand panel under 'Main Movie'.
DVD Shrink couldn’t find the DVD in “Re-author”,
You don't have to use DVD Shrink if you want to use AutoGK.
After Ripping and using FixVTS, select the relevant IFO file for the movie.
Perhaps VTS_01_0.IFO or VTS_07_0.IFO, etc, depending on how it was authored.

Quote:OK, but I sometimes have had problems with audio/video sync and read that using DVD Shrink could help. Do you think DVD Shrink caused the subtitle problem?

If the movie was decrypted successfully, DVD Shrink should have been able to re-author it.
DVD Shrink isn't known to cause sync problems.

I thought the problem with DVD Shrink was caused by DVDFab, that DVDFab put the movie on the second disc under "Unreferenced Material" instead of under "Main Movie".
Is that possible or is it more likely that the decryption is the cause.
In either case, can I solve the problem?

Which version of DVDFab are you using? In your first post, you stated you are using DVDFab version 0.17.0.

Rip the 'Main Movie' to a folder using DVD Fab.

Was this a double sided disk where each side was saved separately.

Was there a reason why two dvd's were created? I would believe that if you copied one disk, there would only be 1 disk worth of files, not 2.

Two dvd's only get created using the split function, dvdfab also has a merge function tho at this stage i've never used it,fab can also convert to avi

I've used the merge function when the movie was in 2 parts on different sides of the disk, but that was it.

Originally posted by scorpNZ:DVDFab 8.1.2.5 can merge the two discs into one, that DVD Shrink can re-author. However DVDFab creates two VTS*.IFO-files and when I use Auto GK on the second part, the problem with the subtitles remains.
dvdfab also has a merge function
