wondershare dvd ripper error message

I'm not sure I'm in the correct forum, but,
I am trying to use "wondershare dvd ripper" to create an xvid avi.
When I click on the start button, I get the following message:
"Access violation at address 00404CE8 in module 'DVD Ripper.exe'
Read of address 00000004"
Can anyone tell me what the problem is and how I can fix it?
