dvd rom help

    hi all

    can enyone help me out? our lasses laptop needs formating wont read copyed dvds for windows or cds and did b4, thought it was the dvd rom but ok, is there enyway round it

    Sounds like a driver issue . Try rolling drivers back . Or donwload and install the appropriate drivers for the drive .

    wont let me rolling drive back

    try cleaning the laser lens of the drive.

    Try this.

    Run ImgBurn.

    Click 'Tools' > 'Filter driver load order'

    Look for entries in 'Upper class filter' and 'Lower class filter'

    If present, highlight and click 'Remove selected filter'.

    Reboot and recheck the drive.

    Note that in my example, neither filter shows any entry - yours may.
