    hello new to the forums,

I searched the web and didn't find anything on how to upgrade my hard drive i have a Acer aspire 4730z laptop with a 150Gb HDD. I want to upgrade to a 750GB Western Digital Scorpio Blue. I was wondering if i could use the factory restore DVDs to install a fresh copy of the OS onto the new HDD or do i need a windows DVD i pre orderd windows 7 pro could i just use that?

What did you search for? There must be about 10 million references on how to replace a laptop hard drive.

"I was wondering if i could use the factory restore DVDs to install a fresh copy of the OS onto the new HDD"

Yes, provided that the DVDs are bootable.

". . .do i need a windows DVD i pre orderd windows 7 pro could i just use that?"

    Yes.
