Ive got an acer extensa 5220,and the recovery disks got lost.So i loaded a copy of windows vista on it which works no problems apart from a few missing drivers. As you know these can be downloaded from Acer website as long as you know what hardware is fitted to your laptop.
I have been on the website for the graphic driver and i have 2 options intel and ati,how do i know which driver to download????I have had the inspection cover off the bottom of the laptop but cant see any ati or intel signs anywhere.????

Also another small question i need to take the old version of windows of the HDD and the old recovery date, how do i access the recovery section to delete this old data.
I have tried F2 (to access settings boot up etc) and also F8 (safe mode settings).
Is there another way i could delete this old data.

    Help appreciated as always.

Vista installs basic drivers automatically, so go into hardware manager and see which card it detected under the display section.

    OK thats worked a treat.
When i installed a new copy of the vista program,i still have the old windows vista on the drive HDD.YOu can see this when you explore drive C,it clearly shows the new windows and the "old windows".
How can i delete this old data,i have tried to delete it but just get error 0x80070091.

There must be a way of deleting the old recovery data and this old windows data.

    Help appreciated as always.
