So i purchased a new router which is, Belkin Wireless N Router F5D8233UK4 VERV3004UK.

I have it connected and running on my computer fine.

Downstairs, i have my Laptop and an old computer with a Linksys Wireless G Adaptor.

Both these computers are only 30-40 Metres away from my Belkin Router.
Pity though i have set the Router's SSID to max and i get Low Signal.

My Laptop would connect but i still get very low signal, sometimes i get limited or no internet connectivity. Om my PC i get Very Low or Limited Connectivity. I had it secured to WPA. So this time i changed to WEP and my Laptop connects fine but STILL again Very Low signal, and on my PC i get Acquiring adress, it stays there forever but never connects, sometimes it says i need a certificate for something :S

What can i do? I bought this router of eBay brand new so i cannot return it. The main question is Why is it giving me low signals everytime even when i changed the SSID?

Why do you think that SSID has ANYTHING to do with signal strength?

SSID is just the name of the wireless network.

Are you sure that you're not talking about some other parameter?

30-40 metres away through now many meters of wall and/or floor?

Signal strength is a direct funtion of the distance, obstacles and interference between the two devices.

Low signal strength typically results in low speeds, or errors and retries which will prevent the PCs from acquiring a network address.

    Wired or wireless?

Your description of the problem leaves a lot to be desired.
