C: says its full but its not

    hi my laptops C: says its full when i have deleted aboot atleased 20g plus off it.The D: is working fine C: D: are ntfs i was thinking off backing up drivers and stuff formatting it as fat32 as i usually have it at and install windows again. My friend installed windows and stuff on it and made it ntfs. IS the hdd broke or could it be a virus or something??

    just because you delete it does not mean its gone did you remove it from the recycle bin? if so do a disk cleanup and a disk defrag and see if that helps.

    yes i empted recyle bin and i just did disk clean up and defrag still says o free space.

    do a propties on the c:drive to see what is used, free & total.

    used 56 gig , free 0 bytes,total 56 gig

    what is the size of the physical drive & what sizes are the partitions? are you using norton recycle bin or similar?

    i just empted the other partition and deleted it added it to the C: its gave me about 55gig just windows recycle bin

    Run a disk cleanup.
    Also, do not reformat the drive into FAT32. NTFS is what it should be.

    yae thanks i looked into it a bit more lol it was just becouse my pen drives are fat 32

    Most pen drives are FAT16, the bigger ones are FAT32.
