Canon Smartbase & Windows 7 twain driver, how to use it ?

I have SmartBase MP700. I'm using MP toolbox 4.5 version, dowloaded it from canon canada support site. Everytime i press scan from device front panel nothing happens, despite there are three different scanning options available in menu which prompts. How can I use twain driver with that device ? I also tried to add twain driver path to windows advanced settings | system properties | environment variables | path, but that didn't help either way.
