cd drive

    just bought a cd album that plays on my external player but extremely poorly on my desktops drive. However it does play on my friends pc. I had a copy made from the original and that copy will now play on my pc. Please explain.thanks

    drive getting old? cd or dvd drive?

    Yeah it could be the original disc is messed up enough to where the laser cannot read the info, or the drive could be getting old like ddp suggested. if the disc was at fault, then a "fresher" replacement seems like it would work.
