cpu shuts down

    i have a hp laptop and just here recently it has just started shuting down on its own. i have checked power options have run two different virus scans, a spyware scan and it still does it any help would be greatful. and it is running vista 64 if that helps with anything

    does it do this when it's left for a while.. like goes into sleep mode? control panel or powersaving options in the bios :)

    i checked that in power options and it was set on never but i will say this when it does it and you turn it back on it saying resuming windows idk what is wrong with it but it is making me mad

    It's going into hibernate mode.. why is a puzzle.. I guess reading the manufacturers literature for that model and os is an idea because a lot have all kinds of addons and hidden settings tucked away. OEM manufacturers and installers all seem to have their own power management software over and above the hardware and winduhz power management.
