Damsel in Distress...Language Change,,help needed!!!

Hi, I was given a laptop by a german friiend who was emigrating,,it is a Dell Latitude CPi,,running on windows xp professional..unfortunatly,,the start menu etc is all in german,,is it possible for the language to be changed to english? if so could I do it myself or would it need to be brought to a specialist,,any advice would be appreciated,,thank you in advance for taking the time to read this.
