I have a DB25 printer port that I would like to use as a Comm port with my police scanner. I have already attached all the cables. The problem I am having is getting the computer to recognize the Printer Port as a Comm port, so the software will recognize it. Is this possible?

db25 female connector is a parallel port so won't do what you want. you do have a 9pin com port on the back of pc or have the header on motherboard for a com port.
