    Hi,

I've got a built computer running on Windows XP Home edition, SP2. As of lately, it is not able to run the OS. I've checked the connections and the monitor and they're all o.k. I've even cleaned all the dust and inserted new memory ram cards.

When you push the "on" button, the computer turns on but there is a blank screen, no power to keyboard & mouse, and no sound.

I'm not sure if it is a software issue or a hardware issue because I've installed a new cd-rom drive and tried running the genuine XP Home cd and still a blank screen.

This computer has always had a chronic problem (disk check would occasionally run and even movement would cause it to reboot).

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

if the computer does not even POST, then there is a hardware issue, not windows. try re installing your ram, or put the old chips you had in. check all your hardware. it sounds like something is not connected or not working properly if you get nothing at all.

ddp you closed my listing yesterday for some reason, do you actually know that the system i was asking for is actually a modem and dish for satellite broadband for my pc. as far as i was aware that does go under the catagory of pcs and hardware. i think you jumped the gun my friend without checking first. as for asking or naming a certain product not being alowed why are people naming psp or xbox those are well known products. I just wanted to see if i could get a system thats all

actually a modem and dish for satellite broadband for a pc is not for other pc hardware except for dialup, dsl & cable modems. that would either belong to home theater pc, pvr or dvb forums. also your post here is off topic so either post in a correct forum or do a pm.
