Dell Dimension XPS/GEN2

    i just got this pc a couple of days ago from a buddy of mine who wasn't using it anymore and i was wondering if anyone can lead me to the direction of a bios disk or system recovery disk because im trying to put windows 7 on there and its not recognizing any hard drives

    download parted magic boot disk to see if that picks it up if so and u want to install a fresh copy of windows 7 use secure erase and format with ntfs. you might also want to check your cables that connect your hdd before you do this just incase its them.

    does the motherboard see the drive? i installed win7 64bit onto a dell dimension e520 last week with no problems & it was a sata hd.
