Dell Inspiron 1300 cpu change?

#1 20 Apr 2011 @ 12:34
Hi, is it possible to upgrade the cpu on my Dell Inspiron 1300?
It has at present 1.5Ghz celeron processor, which is pretty slow by todays standards.
I was cleaning the heat sink and noticed the cpu can be removed quite easily.
So, do you know if it is possible? and to what speed? and where to get an upgraded cpu?
Thanks in advance
Steve

Hi, have just fitted the 1.73 Pentium and all is working well, although to be honest, I am not sure that I can see the increased speed, but all is good with the Dell.

While I am still on the forum, is there a similar upgrade for my Vaio N11 which at present has the 1.6GHz duo?

Thanks
again
