Dell laptop with Toshiba ATA 40gb hard drive
Hard Drive stared making a terrible noise while using my laptop.
    Got the error 0f00 0244
Msg; Block 585542: Uncorrectable data error
Just wondering if this can be fixed and if not can I get a new hard drive off ebay and if so could someone recommend one as I am unsure about compatability and such.

Just about any 2.5" SATA drive should work. I like the hitachi 500GB units...they seem reliable enough...and they are the best GB-per-dollar you will find in a laptop drive.
