for some reason my pc keeps freezing randomly...after it froze i need to restart it once and everything is ok again untill the next day when i start up my pc...my firend told me i could need to change the voltage my RAM is getting....the pc i have is brand new..so i doubt it that it could be broken after 2 months....what could be the problem here if it keeps freezing randomly?
Do not touch the voltage on your ram unless you know what you are doing. I'm in a good mood today so why not? Most users would ignore this for being so vague. You need to provide more info so we can help. Vista/XP/Linux? Desktop/Laptop? Motherboard, CPU, how much RAM, any extra peripherals (sound card, video card), Hard drive. Check your event log to see if any errors are there.

well it froze again just 5 min ago...again no error log what so ever...i think its somewhere in the hardware but what i dunno its brand new

During a particular program, at a particular time of day, after it's been on for a certain amount of time, when the air conditioner comes on? Is it on a UPS? Can you put any pattern at all to the seeming randomness? Did you buy this off-the-shelf or did you or someone else build it for you? Did you make any software or hardware changes just before it started doing this? Have you made any performance-enhancing tweaks to the BIOS? Do you have a way to measure the CPU, memory or board temperatures? Lots of questions, but you have to be our eyes and ears on this. Dick

Can you put any pattern at all to the seeming randomness? well not really a pattern its just some days it donst do it...and other times it does it every day...but its only 1 time a day thats all Did you buy this off-the-shelf or did you or someone else build it for you? i said to a computer store here to get me the parts for a new computer and when they did i build it in the case myself Did you make any software or hardware changes just before it started doing this? Have you made any performance-enhancing tweaks to the BIOS? i never whent in the bios...might screw things up in there so i better stay out of it Do you have a way to measure the CPU, memory or board temperatures? not really high temperatures....maybe it helps if i say the case is the antec 900 or 9000...so it has plenty of vans and plenty of space to ''breath'' hope this maybe clears things up
At a guess I would say it's either something to do with the mobo (asrock are very bottom end.. thank gawd jetway are defunct.. only ones imho worse) or something isn't seated properly. I would take it apart and start over.
Home built.. been like it from day 1 build error.. we can't guess it, the OP needs to strip it right down and start over.
Did it work for a period of time when it was new and then suddenly start with this freezing behavior? This is a shot in the dark (so don't blame me if it doesn't work), but I had a similar problem earlier this year. I had a Windows XP Pro system what ran flawlessly 24/7 for over a year. It would run for weeks on end between re-boots and then re-boot only if I was updating or installing something. Then it began randomly freezing roughly once a day. Sometimes three times a day, sometimes every other day. I spent about two weeks running diagnostics, removing extraneous programs and re-installing needed ones. I re-seated the cards, replaced the memory and even performed an in-place re-install of the OS, but nothing worked. Finally I surrendered to the inevitable, re-formatted the hard drive and did a clean OS install. The system has been its reliable old self ever since (knock on wood). If I had to guess (and it would be only that), an automatic OS update--that just happened to take place the night before my system started failing--went horribly wrong and the complete OS had to be refreshed. If your system worked without freezing for a significant period of time, this might be an ultimate albeit drastic thing to try. If your system has been flaky since Day One, probably not. Dick
that could work ye...because it hasnt been freezing since day on...it started i think 2 months ago... ill try formatting the HDD later this year maybe begin new year....i was just hoping it wasnt anything on the hardware would be a bummer to buy new things for a brand new pc
