Hi, I hope someone can help. A friend has 2 acer laptops for his sons. they both downloaded viruses which ended up with the laptops needing to be put back to factory settings. the first went well and all is fine. however the second one someone else had a go at and installed xp wiping vista off it meaning you cant put it back to its factory settings as the recovery partition was also wiped. He doesnt have the original discs. Is it possible to wipe the xp hard drive and clone the hard drive of the working vista laptop, copy it over and restore the xp laptop to its original vista greatness? The acer has pre loaded acer specific sofware so I would like to replicate it so that both laptops are the same. I have separate vista licences for them.
I appreciate any help and advice.

acer has a program in the vista laptop to make your own recovery disks just incase the hard drive has to be replaced, will need about 3 dvd's to make the recovery disks. as long as both laptops are identical then will work.
