high had my son install avg free on his computer. after install he ran avg then computer froze about halfway saying it found a virus but could not go any further. so he manualy rebooted computer and all it says is system drive failure replace disk is this caused by the virus or just the timing of a bad hard drive. thx
He could try booting to the windows disk and doing a repair...that error usualy means the bootsector is corrupt or missing.
he doesnt know if he can find a spare hdd from a freind and he didnt make a copy of windows for back up. dont know if my copy from a toshiba would work on his hp. will try it whenever i get home (in about 3 weeks) thanks for your help and replys
