hardware malfunction/system halted

    hey to whomever i started my laptop up and there were no probs then all of a sudden the screen went black i tried to reboot and no joy i now keep getting message on a blue screen saying"***hardware malfunction,call your hardware vendor for support,nmi:parity check/memory parity error,***the system has halted."its a dell precision m65,not sure what to do so any help will be appreciated.and i hope im in the right forum

    1. swap/replace RAM

    or reload windows after getting data off as had to do that with customer's vista laptop when it bsod on her.

    If you can get into the bios it may be possible to turn off parity checks. Odd to see them these days.. last time I saw something like that was back in p2 days.

    If it has 2 sets of ram try pulling just one.. then the other.. usually only one stick has gone mad, or like I said it could be a bios reset related to the bsod
