hdd help pls!!

    hello,
    i have a gaming pc with 2 hard drives installed one sata
    and one idle
    now sometimes i hear a noise like when you shutdown the pc, its like a whistling sound sort of. now i have searched for this problem and i find out that i have to set the hdd drive not in sleep mode. is this the problem of this noise?

    do you have any wireless hardware attached?.. seems more like that kind of noise to me.. 5 basic senses are good, if the drive you suspect is not doing anything unplug it.

    all i have wireless is the xbox 360 controller, but its always off(with battries removed)
    can you tell me a step by step guide how to make the hard drive not in sleepmode, im using windows 7
    i think the noise is from the hdd when it goes to sleepmode

    go into power options in control panel & set it to "never".
