how to install a wireless adapter in tower

    recently I had my dell optiplex gx 280 tower clean out with all viruses and adware i want to put it downstairs but don't want to route the internet to it so i want to install a wireless router and I don't know how to go about and buy one and install it. call someone suggest some products and help me

    can go either usb or pci wireless but do you have a wireless router?

    you need wireless network card (usb or pci) and a wirelss router (providing you dont have them already).network card plugs into pci slot,usb network card plugs in usb(obviously).the wireless router would plug into your phone line and provide internet through wireless signal to the computer.i got tp-link the network card was $25 the router was $80.my internet does drop out quite a bit so i wouldnt recommend tp-link as a top brand.

    I have verizon fios router already with my other pc so i think i would need a usb adapterlike a netgear belkin usb adapter. what do you think?
