I have a Dell Studio 1737 Laptop that replaced my HP dv5000 laptop which is now pretty much garbage. From what I can tell they both have the same type of ram in it. The hp has a 1gb stick of ram in it. Could I take it out and put it in the 1737?.

On a side note is there anything in a HP dv5000 that is worth salvageing? The motherboard and the screens hinges are pretty much the only problems. Obviously the harddrive I am going to keep, but with bunged up hinges is the screen worth anything? Anything else worth keeping/selling.

how much ram in the dell? how many sticks of ram in each laptop? the hp's rom drive might be worthwhile keeping.
