installing ram on dell 1520

    hey i want to ugrade the ram on my laptop

    its currently 1GB

    i would ;like to upgrade to 4GB (i know i will only get about 3/3.5 on 32bit)

    i would like to know if i should get 2X2GB OR 1X4GB does it make a difference ?

    2 reasons to get 2 x 2 GB.

    1) Dual channel mode

    2)If one stick goes bad you won't be totally hosed.

    #2 works for me as a bad 2gig stick in a new sytem with only 2gig stick cost me 1.5hrs debugging to find it was ram. installed a single 1gig stick & windows installed. going to tell store to replace 1-2gig into 2-1gig sticks.
