is windows xp pre loaded on my laptop

    hi i have a fujitsu seimens amilo pi 1505 a while ago i had a virus on it,so i gave it to a work mate who said he'd fix it for me, which he did he also kindly or so i thought put windows 7 on my laptop,unfortunately i've had nothing but trouble with slow speed occasional freezing and now my sound device has disappeared so i want to change back to xp but i never got a recovery cd when i got my laptop just wondering if xp is pre installed and if so how do i reactivate it. cheers

    as long as the recovery partition is not deleted then should be able to use that link to reload windows. if that succeeds, make your recovery disks as should have a program in that windows to allow you to do that just in case the hard drive dies on you.

    thanks for reply i'm having trouble installing xp when i go into bios i cant find where i re-install xp, a friend has borrowed me a xp install cd but when i try to run it a message comes up saying a newer version is loaded on laptop,but i dont know how to delete windows 7 before installing xp from the cd.any ideas. thank you

    check your user manual on how to do a system recovery not system restore. usually it is f10 to start the system recovery. check bottom right corner right around the time of the post screen but before windows loadup screen what function key is required to start system recovery.

    go to the bios there should be somewhere load from sata or ide change it to ide sp2 works only with ide good luck

    snazzy619, sata will work with sp1 & sp2. been there, done it.
