keyboard error 39

    does anyone know how to fix the following: the driver may be corrupted or missing (code 39) for PS/2 keyboard. This is on windows xp. i have tryed just about everrything. i don't want to have to do a full restore of the OS.

    thanks ddp but no luck with that either. also couldn't restore because it was turned off on this computer.
