My wife recently spilled water on her Dell Latitude D620. And After leaving it unplugged for a couple of weeks it turns on. Butg the screen is very dark you can see it has booted up ok. It's just dark. Is it the backlight or the inverter? How do I tell?

Thank You Very Much For Your Time

It could be either one. The test would be to try a new inverter with the old screen...but I doubt that you want to buy a new inverter just for a test. You might try cleaning the inverter with distilled water.

i JUST had this problem, i could shine a flash light at the screen and see it perfectly. i sent the screen back and got a new one sure enough it was the backlight. it would be cheaper and EASIER to buy a new screen rather than try to install a new backlight, since the bulb is very very fragile. and will SNAP easy.
