Laptop screen back light works but no image

    Compaq Presario 700 LCD screen back light turns on when power on. but no image, any ideas??? I assume this is the lcd screen because i can get an image on the external monitor. Thank you for all responces

    well if your getting an image on an external monitor then it has to be the display is bad. when my laptop has no image i have to manual reboot system, windows not loading. wish you luck :D

    check settings either on keyboard or bios to switch from external monitor to internal monitor.
