    Hi.
I have a toshiba satellite e105. When I turn it on and flip open the screen, the screen will suddenly go very dark. I'd say I can open it about 40 degrees before this happens. The screen is almost pitch black, but I can still faintly see.
I opened the 4 screws on the screen and took off the plastic surrounding part. I made sure the connections were tight on the things by the screen. I didn't check one end of a wire that goes from the screen area, through one of the hinges, to the body of the computer. I suppose I could try and open the laptop up to find where this wire goes and make sure the connection is tight, but before i do I wanted to see if anyone knew what was wrong.
Any ideas on what to do?
    thanks

It might not be wiring related. My friends laptop had a similar issue, but it was because a magnet that controls the on/off of the screen when opened or closed slipped out of its housing and would trigger the sensor even when open. Simply moving it back to where it was fixed the issue.
