Wife's laptop is not working properly. I backed up all files on an external hard drive and want to bring it back to factory settings

    It is a Satellite a305-s6825
    Windows Vista

I have surfed the web and have not found the right answer about restoration

    Upon Start I tap F8
    then Fix computer

    New Screen comes up

    Startup Repair
    System Restore
Windows Complete PC Restore (from backup image, which I dont have)
    Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool
    Command Prompt
Toshiba Recover Wizard - need Discs which I dont have

A few sites said to hit "full destructive mode" but have not found this....

    Can someone help?

Maybe try to do a system restore if you can get into windows, but go as far back as it will let you , if not there's lots of other ways you can do it to. :)
