Hello, was wondering if anyone can provide me with some info. I have a 17" LCD monitor that recently started having some issues. Out of the blue, the left side of the screen halfway whited out, like it turned the brightness of just the left side of the screen way up. I also noticed that there are some images of desktop icons and a Start button sort of burned into the screen, but normally these were never there. and none of the icons are anything ive ever used leading my to believe these "burned" images are from the previous owner (i got the monitor from a friend at least a year ago). Is this just the monitor dying? or something else (hopefully) fixable.

It does not sound good; sometimes such glitches can be caused by drivers, OS issues, too much overclocking, etc...but it sounds like a death rattle to me.
