lenovo laptop

hi dont know if i am posting this in the right place, i am trying to fix my mates lenovo 3000 n200 lap top, the problem is it is not picking up his wireless router but when i use a earth cable it connects no bother. can someone help thanks

moved to correct forum as not a windows software issue. does it show the wireless netcard in device manager? is the wireless antenna turned on using a button or switch? did you do a scan for wireless routers?

Two things you can try are you sure that your friends laptop wirless is enabled and does it pick up the wireless router not connect to it but does it see it.
Also you can check if the I.P settings are setup manually or automatically and you need to check if the DNS settings are the same as a computer that has a working connection.
Try this and keep me posted??
