Maxtor external Hard Drive security software

I am trying to format my Maxtor Black armour external drive to FAT32 for my PS3 but when I go to do this through seagates discwizard i get an error, i would give it to you but I cant open the program anymore. What I really want to know is how to restore the hard drive so it is completely blank and ready to use.

what format is it in now? use windows disc management to delete the partition.

it is in FAT32. When I use it to delete it it does not delete the software for the password protection. I know it may loko like this is a stolen drive but really I got this drive from my GF and need to use it for my PS3 but the security software is blocking it from connecting to my PS3. It works fine on my computer but that damn security software is causing problems!
