My western digital 400GB SATA hard drive wont work.

When i start my computer, the hard drive makes 3 beep sounds then shuts off. I even took out the hard drive and plugged it into a USB to Sata device into a working desktop computer and does the same thing. What should i do?

could have been anything to do with the drive not the computer. hope you had your info saved on another drive as a backup.
