Hi, first time poster, please be patient.
My PC build is from second hand parts, all tested before this set up.
    PS 400watts
    Acer aspire m1640 mobo
    Intel 2.2 duo2
    2gig's of Ram
    Asus eah4350 silent
    OS windows 7 32

I put the PC together and after installed windows, the on board video card was working. after restart the on board video no longer worked and I used my video card. good stuff!

Now i installed Ati catalyst driver from the CD it came with. then half way through it "crashed" blue screen.
try reformatting to get the video card to work once more and nothing
took video card out ran my pc then put the card back in, it did not read my card.I downloaded the Ati drivers and nothing
After that i reinstalled windows and nothing?

no real drivers for windows 7 for my chipset, that's on the Acer site

    any ideas?
    thanks in advance every one
    cheers

Sounds like either a faulty card or motherboard. Try another graphics card first as that's easier to replace, ideally a brand other than Asus.

try using a linux livecd to bootup your computer. This can rule out a hardware problem.

From your description it sounds like a windows driver problem.
